Most people argue that the digital world gives more freedom to the individual and democratizes creativity and communication by giving everybody access to the tools that only a few used to have. While this is true, other things that can be overlooked are things in media, as certain people’s voices are amplified in the media, whereas others are marginalized through the algorithm used in social media. This creates monopolies through the algorithm and through the sharing of data on social media. Some also argue that in art, digital art takes away from the uniqueness that physical art, such as paintings, has in its texture. While others argue that technology has efficiency, humans cannot reproduce. Other arguments are about the privacy of people, as using digital media such as social media hinders people’s privacy in their lives.
